Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia: A Monitoring Strategy

Special Report
Guy Chester and Sally Bushnell
ISBN 0 86443 746 3

The World Heritage Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia (CERRA) represent the major remaining areas of rainforest in southeast Queensland and northeast New South Wales. The property protects almost fifty individual reserves which extend from Barrington Tops near Newcastle in New South Wales, to Mistake Mountains west of Brisbane in Queensland.

Australia is obliged to ensure the World Heritage values of the CERRA property are protected for future generations. This Monitoring Strategy provides a method for monitoring the state of the key CERRA World Heritage Values through identification of indicators, current state of knowledge and survey work.
